After a winter relaxation in Palm Springs, GERRY is back-with us but not for long. He is leaving for more than a month’s excursion to Europe returning in May. Yesterday at Riverway, GERRY showed no rust in his game carding three birdies. He is the top “birdiehunter” of the day. BILL and RORY had two each and BEN, SIMON, and HIDE completed the rooster of successful hunters.
Player of the week honors however, belong to BILL whose “course management skills” and excellent putting have been quite evident as he continues to play sub-par rounds based on his index. On hole #8, he rolled in a birdie from a sidehill-downhill putt from nearly 20 feet. He has also been quite a KP sharp-shooter taking his tee shots on all the par three greens and except one. His net 69.7 beats out HAN’s 70.8 for 3rd place.
Scores were outrageous at last week’s disastrous outing at King Links with cold howling wind but yesterday’s sunny and warmer day brought out some great scoring. BEN’s 37 in the back nine was best and it was good enough to earn 1st place. SIMON’s 39 also helped him capture 2nd place.
