He has reasons to smile. As he was leaving the parking area at Kings Links, HARRY hollered at VINCENT, “I want two-two from you next time!”
No one wants VINCENT to forget about his 79 at Riverway. If that was a fluke, then he certainly would be joining Mini-Kong for the glorious title of “Sandbagger of the Season”. His 86 today at Kings Links proves that VINCENT is for real. If the record books are not cooked (Simon is no chef), his new handicap index would certainly dip.
But that is fine with all of us, of course.
EXCELLENT CHANCES AT THE 64TH PAL INTERCLUB
VINCENT’S continued strong play would bolster our chances at the International Team Championship at the 64th PAL INTERCLUB in Cagayan. His score today would assure a minimum of 40 MOLAVE points. Our other delegate, CHANG HEE JEAW will have garnered 48 MOLAVE points while HIDE AIZAWA, another possible delegate, will have easily earned 45 points. With a total of 133 points, our team total would rival those of the top domestic senior teams (SOUTHWOODS, CANLUBANG, WACK-WACK).
We are looking good. (Imagine if KIITCHI would join us. Wow!)
Our ace-in-the-hole (I won’t mention his name at his request) was hammering his drives close to an average of 300 yards out-driving MILES at a few holes. Rusty from having been away from the game, his short iron play needs work. However, he displayed some brilliance as he nailed a couple of KPs; one was only inches away from the hole (and converted it to a birdie). His “horrible” play today would still earn him at least 30 points. We are going to have a strong team!
WELCOME TO ALAN AND GERRY
What a great way to introduce himself to our club! Gerry played a great game and took 2nd prize!
Also, welcome back, VIC! Glad you could have fun with us.
SEE YOU GUYS AT RIVERWAY NEXT WEEK!
PAL INTERCLUB TIPs
(Note: Each week, we shall publish some travel tips that would enhance your GOLF EXCURSION PLANS.)
Tip #1 – Smoker? Don’t purchase your “poison” at the duty free shops or in flight. Get them at SM MALL. They sell them much cheaper there – about P385.
Tip #2 – Don’t wait till you get to Manila. Get some Philippine Peso at some foreign exchange places in Richmond. You may need some local currency for food, departure tax, or valet service at the airport. Bring US$ dollars. They are preferred at most foreign exchange places in the Philippines.
