This has to be the best news of the Month…maybe the year.
BILL SIE came through yesterday at Point Roberts. It must be prophetic because Bill was there bright and much earlier before our scheduled tee-time. His first comment was: “Wow, you are better than the weather broadcasters.”
That, of course, has to do with so much trepidation about the horrible wet weather we have been enduring; and referred to the unbelievable prediction by the “Team Captain” that, “No, Thursday will be clear of rain and there will be sun!”
Well, while it was raining in Burnaby and Richmond when we set off, the clouds cleared and we started off with clearing skies. In fact, the sun greeted us from the 4th hole on. Surprisingly, although there are puddles at some places and some bunkers are water-logged, the course is very playable and the greens are terrific for this time of the year.
BILL picked a good day to play a decent round. Consequently, although he only had 2 skins on his foursome, he took the 2nd 9 and the total in their Nassau. Better than that, his net 70 was the best score amongst the 8 golf fanatics, edging perennial winner Chang HJ. ED MORCILLA came in 2nd.
BREAKING NEWS – TIGER WOODS INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT
WINDERMERE, Fla. — WESH 2 News has learned that golfer Tiger Woods was injured when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree outside his Isleworth home early on Friday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods was injured in the crash, which took place at about 2:30 a.m., and was taken to Health Central Hospital. The Orange County Fire Department confirmed that a patient was taken to Health Central, but would not confirm that the patient was Woods.
A source told WESH 2 News that Woods has been treated for facial lacerations.
Woods was driving a 2009 black Cadillac Escalade when he lost control and hit a fire hydrant outside his home and a tree outside his neighbor’s home, FHP said.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation. It said alcohol did not play a role in the crash, but that charges are pending.
