Eagles near extinction!
“Eagles are fair game to me,” say Miles (Nerona). Well, he can say that again and again. After all, with his new driver, every par 5 on the course is only a zing and a mid-iron zang away.
Miles got his eagle at the 5th hole par 5 at Riverway today. He added a birdie on the par 3 15th hole as he posted another 79.
Han is now officially confirmed as a “birdie hunter”, making his mark on the difficult par 4 4th hole.
Chang HJ also a birdie. His was on the short par 3 11th.
KIITCHI KUMAGAI – Our Guest Today
Joining us this morning is a long-time public servant in the City of Richmond who is also an avid golfer & friend. “Keech” matched Hide’s drive on many holes. That shows you how sneaky long he is off the tee. Had his putting been a little decent, he could have had more “skins” than the 7 he earned, playing with Ernie, Hide, and Harry. (Hide collected 11 skins; Harry only 2 – from a putt 250 yards away for a birdie. Ok, Ok, how about 35 feet?…at the tough 7th hole!)
ERNIE WAS Skunked!
Playing with shoulder pain and a hot patch, Ernie’s limited mobility may have helped lessen erratic shots….but he was skunked in the skin game…ZERO….NADA…and no birdies!
However, Ernie’s net 65 was good for 1st place and the $300,000 purse. Miles and Han shared 2nd and 3rd place and split the $200,000 prize. (Picture shows Han’s putting style!)
Joe continues to play exceptional golf, however. Unfortunately his 80 is one shot short of the money. His total money winnings bear evidence of his consistency.
RIVERWAY is UNBEATABLE
The course condition and the greens are starting to rival those of great golf courses like North View or Fraserview. The early bird green fee for seniors at $30 is unmatched anywhere. It is definitely BEST VALUE.
