Lots of BIRDIES at Point Roberts Golf and Country Club today

On Wednesday at Savage Creek, at about 5 pm, Miles arrived at “the workshop” with two new drivers: a Callaway FT and the latest Nike. A few minutes later, here comes Hide with his gears. After kibitzing with the boys, they commandeered the two best stalls at the driving range.

Miles was spraying the Nike left and right but he was a little more consistent with the Callaway FT.

Meantime Hide was banging his Cobra Comp LV4 straight down center.

Miles rattled three birdies in his round at Point Roberts today on the par 4-#4 and #11, and the tough par 3 #15 bringing home a gross 78 for the day. Hide’s birdies came on the dog-leg par 4 #10 and #17. He, too, recorded a 78. The two split the 1st and 2nd place pot for the day. Playing in a three-some with Han, this 1st group off the tee at 7:30 am was nowhere to be found after the game. They must have completed their round in three hours! COLLECT YOUR LOOT from HARRY!

BIRDIE HUNTER HARRY has honorable mention

He shot two birds: a chip-in on the par 5 #5 hole and a legit 3 on the 10th hole. Unfortunately, besides these two, he kept shooting himself on the foot. He had massive drives throughout the day though.

Sunny was consistent as usual. Apart from his three pars (no birdie) he stayed decent with the help of his chipping and putting. No one dares challenge his ruling as he now has a rule book in his back pocket.

Of course, the boys were playing for skins, KPs, and birdies. At the challenging 16th hole, Chang Lim chipped to within 4 feet of the pin. Sunny had about the same distance. Chang made his putt for a par…good for a skin, so he thought. Would Sunny let Chang have his skin? No way! He also got his par. Now we all have to pay our dues this Saturday at Semi-a-ahmo. For sure, Chang will get his revenge at his home course!

It was a tough call. At $70 for an early bird and senior rate at North View Ridge against $30 ( for Seniors) for a fabulous Riverway Course, there is no contest.

So we are returning to RIVERWAY next week.
