WACKY 2-BALL TOTAL MATCH

Birdies were few

Only ED and JOE were the successful birdie hunters this week. Joe got his two birdies on #1 and #6 while Ed brightest moment in a miserable game was on the par 3 # 2.

Most of the hunters were firing blanks. Chang Hee Jauw almost got one on #9 but the ball just spun out 360 degrees and stayed out.

WILD and WACKY day at Point Roberts

With the dark clouds and scattered showers, SUNNY was ready to pack it in. So did Chang Lim. The Guru assured them that they will see the sun on the 5th hole. “Have faith butterflies, I have ordered a sunny day for your tournament,” he said.

Sure enough, it was a bright day….but…what about golf?

ROOSTERS MILES & JOE against TURKEYS ED & HARRY

It was a massacre in the making. Miles and Joe were one over par together for the 1st 3 holes; Ed and Harry were 12 over par! No contest. They were even on #4. The par 5 5th was disastrous for Harry and Miles (both had snowmen) but on account of a stroke advantage, Ed and Harry won the only hole on the front 9. In the back 9 it was the same story. Steady Joe carried the day. His net 67 is the lowest for the day. ADVANTAGE ROOSTERS – 13.5 vs. 4.5.

TURKEYS PETER & VINCENT prevailed against HAN & SUNNY

This foursome was almost an even match. Hans and Sunny took 5.5 points in the front but surrendered 3-6 in the back giving the Turkeys 1 point advantage (9.5 vs. 8.5). Roosters are still 8 points ahead.

FINAL PAIRINGS of ERNIE & HIDE against CHANG Lim and CHANG Hee Jauw

The Turkeys mauled the Roosters in this match. Chang HJ was so hot in the front 9 shooting 38 while Chang L was as steady as a rock sinking putts from all over the place. However, at the turn, something “started to happen”. Hide’s game returned and Ernie regained his senses. The Turkeys’ lead in the front of 7.5 against 1.5 was trimmed as the Roosters team rallied for a margin of 6-3. The Turkeys won 10.5 vs. 7.5 and took back 3 points.

MATCH TOTAL POINTS

The result of this 2-ball Total Match increased the Roosters’ margin by 5 points by scoring a total of 29.5 points against the Turkeys 24.5 points.

NEXT WEEK’S SINGLES MATCHES at RIVERWAY

Unless a total collapse by members of the ROOSTERS’ Team occurs, a margin of 15 points may be enough for the chickens to start uncorking the champagne bottles.

Granted this competition is unlike the BATTLE of the EAST and WEST, and the point lead does not represent a lethal left hook like Pacquiao’s, but the chickens are certainly starting to do the cha-cha, anticipating the Turkeys to be the host at the luncheon that follows after the final championship match next Thursday.
